Infographic: Fiji Airways - Five Year Masterplan

By Stefan Pichler Posted 10 Jan 2014

I’m delighted to share our Five Year Masterplan with all our friends and partners via our blog.

The key message is that Fiji Airways, between now and 2017 deliver the following for our people, our customers and the Fijian economy:

1.    5 new planes, which means more 35 % more seats on offer
2.    Almost 30% more jobs, all of them for locals
3.    Underlying operating profits of over $100m as a result of our airline operating performance

This first Masterplan for Fiji Airways was developed bottom up from the management and with input from its customers, people and stakeholders. This is our plan, we believe in it and we will make it happen. This is what we want to deliver by building and performing under a highly inspirational global brand – Fiji Airways!”

We will get one A330-200, two B737-800s and two ATR72-600s (one as a replacement for an ATR 42-500), by 2017. Just a note that we will do a study to determine exactly which narrow-body aircraft fits our needs, as we could choose between B737 or A320.

The additional aircraft will support our capacity growth across all markets by more than a third (35%), and an increase in passenger numbers by 39%.
In short, we will fly more, giving our customers the convenience of even more departure options and more connectivity from our various markets.

We will deliver underlying operating process of over F$100m over this period. This is a huge step change to our past performance.

And just as importantly, we will increase our staff numbers by almost 30%, which means more jobs for the Fijian people at their National Airline.

And this plan has already been put into action, as we recently announced, by the introduction of new direct flights to Suva from Sydney and Apia.
