By Shane Hussein Posted 3 Mar 2014

With spiked mountains rising from the sea floor and a chorus of wild song birds lyrically soaring above the lush green forest canopy, the paradise islands of Fiji is built on the stirring wonders that inspired Daniel Defoe’s Robinson Crusoe or Jonathan Swift’s Gulliver’s Travels. test

Formed by volcanic activity around 150 million years ago, Fiji is an archipelago of over 330 islands covering a total area of approximate 194 000 square kilometres of unspoilt beaches, volcanic mountains and tropical rainforests. With roughly three quarters of the total human population living on Fiji’s main islands of Viti Levu and Vanua Levu, most of archipelago has been left untouched and unspoilt by human interaction and is just waiting for the intrepid traveller to explore.
Indeed, the biodiversity of Fiji’s natural landscapes can be illustrated magnificently through their national parks, protecting and preserving these wonders for the world to enjoy.

Koroyanitu National Heritage Park

A half hour drive from Nadi International Airport on Viti Levu, this national park offers a lush forest with grasslands, archaeological sites and six self sufficient villages that are part of an ongoing conservation project.
