oneworld is an alliance of some of the world’s leading airlines, committed to providing the highest level of service and convenience to frequent international travelers. oneworld members include American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Finnair, Iberia, Japan Airlines, LATAM Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, Qantas, Qatar Airways, Royal Jordanian, S7 Airlines and SriLankan Airlines, and around 30 affiliates.

Fiji Airways joins as the first oneworld connect partner on the 5th of December 2018. As part of oneworld, these airlines:
• Serve more than 1,000 airports in 160 plus territories, with some 14,000 daily departures.
• Carry almost 550 million passengers a year on a combined fleet of 3,500 aircraft.
• Generate some US$ 135 billion annual revenues.

Introducing oneworld connect

The creation of the new oneworld connect membership category provides a new avenue of growth and increased revenue for the oneworld alliance, whilst delivering broader and more numerous customer benefits and an even better smooth, seamless global travel experience for the frequent flyer.

The new oneworld connect brand has been developed for airlines that are sponsored by a oneworld alliance member airline. Eligible customers of the oneworld connect airline will be able to take advantage of benefits offered by their sponsor airline in addition to their own airline and vice versa.

Fiji Airways Sponsor Airlines

As a oneworld connect partner, rather than a full member of the alliance, we will be able to offer a special selection of the regular oneworld services and benefits with the alliance’s airlines that fly to all the places that we feel are most important for our customers. For any journey which involves a connection between Fiji Airways and any of these four oneworld sponsors, customer will be able to check themselves and their baggage in to their end destination.

Overview of Customer Service & Benefits

From the 5th of December 2018, customers with Emerald, Sapphire or Ruby status in any oneworld® member airline’s frequent flyer programme can use priority check-in desks, where available, when flying in any cabin class on Fiji Airways. While customers with Emerald or Sapphire status in any oneworld® member airline’s frequent flyer programme will also be offered priority boarding when flying on Fiji Airways.

  1. Benefits are only available when travelling on flights that are both operated and marketed by Fiji Airways and its sponsors. Flights operated and marketed by Fiji Link are excluded.
  2. Benefits to customers from British Airways, Cathay Pacific, and Qantas will be phased in from 5 December 2018
  3. A date for when these benefits will be available to customers from American Airlines will be announced in due course.
  4. The ability for British Airways Executive Club Members to redeem Avios points on Fiji Airways and for Cathay Pacific Marco Polo Club members to earn or redeem club points or earn status points on Fiji Airways will be available shortly after 5 December 2018, from a date to be announced in due course by the airlines concerned.
