50% Discount to Celebrate Fiji Airways First Birthday

National Carrier celebrates its first birthday with special offer for customers

Friday, 27 June 2014: Fiji Airways, Fiji’s National Airline today kicked off its first birthday celebrations with a massive 50% discount deals for flights from Fiji. The short three-day sales sees flights from Nadi to Auckland, Sydney and Brisbane for as low as $427 for adults (one-way, all inclusive), and $434 to Melbourne (one-way, all inclusive). 50% sale on return airfares on long-haul flights include now see seats on sale $1,353 (all inclusive) to Los Angeles and $1,326 for Hong Kong (all inclusive). The huge discounts also apply to flights to Honolulu and much of the airline’s South Pacific network.

Stefan Pichler, Managing Director & CEO commented: “The 3-day sale with huge discounts are our way of thanking our customers for all their support over the past year. We are in a solid financial position right now because of the faith of customers have in us and our services. This support has seen us grow from strength to strength.”
The seats from this promotion are limited and the sale ends on June 30th. Over 300 Fiji Airways staff based at its Head Office joined in the birthday celebrations this morning. Mr. Pichler also thanked the entire staff corps for their commitment over the past year.

“Every one of you have worked hard, taking all the changes with the rebranding into stride. You’ve worked as one, and on behalf of the Board of Fiji Airways, I say Vinaka Vakalevu. We have had a very successful last quarter of 2013 and the first five months of 2014. We are well on track to achieve our financial targets for 2014. It is your dedication that has seen us launch new routes, upgrade our onboard experience, deliver great OTP results, generate profits and improve all Fiji Airways’ products and services.”

Mr. Pichler revealed that the airline recorded its highest ever load factor for the month of May in its history of 84%. It is poised to carry record number of passengers for June and July as well.
Over the past twelve months, the National Airline has achieved a number of milestones which include:

o New routes (Suva-Sydney, Suva-Apia) and increased frequency to Hong Kong
o Dramatically improved OTP, with a past 10-month average of 82.1% for Fiji Airways and 93.4% for Fiji Link
o Strongly positive financial results for 2013, enabling the airline to payout profit-share to staff for the first time ever
o Signing a ground-breaking deal with Etihad Airways, giving Fiji Airways unprecedented market access in places where it had no presence before
o Negotiation new cargo interline deals to help Fijian exporters
o Rebranding its subsidiary ‘Pacific Sun’ to Fiji Link
o Upgrade of the entire onboard experience, which means better catering, better inflight entertainment, better inflight magazine and better Duty Free shopping
