Fiji Stopover Booking Conditions

1. The Contract

1.1 In these Booking Conditions, “Fiji Airways”, "we" or "us" means Air Pacific Limited trading as Fiji Airways, whose principal office is at Maintenance and Administration Centre, Nasoso Rd, Nadi, Fiji. These Booking Conditions are governed exclusively by the laws of Fiji and the courts of Fiji shall have exclusive jurisdiction to determine any dispute or claim that arises out of or in connection with these Booking Conditions.

1.2 These Booking Conditions apply equally to you and to all persons named in your booking. When you make your booking you guarantee that you have the authority to accept and do accept on behalf of your party the terms of these Booking Conditions.

2. Fiji Airways 2 Night FREE Fiji Stopover (selected hotels)

2.1 The 2 Night FREE Fiji Stopover package includes two nights’ accommodation at selected hotels on a twin share basis and return transfers between Fiji International Airport and the hotel. For the avoidance of doubt, any single occupancy bookings will incur a surcharge.

2.2 The 2 Night FREE Fiji Stopover package only applies to selected hotels. If you book a hotel that is not part of the 2 Night FREE Fiji Stopover package it will not be FREE and you will be charged for the accommodation costs. You will be charged at the special rates available under our Fiji Stopover Program and you will still benefit from the departure tax waiver.

2.3 Maximum occupancy of each room is two (2) adults and two (2) children.

2.4 You may only use the 2 Night FREE Fiji Stopover package on either the outbound or return leg of your journey. You cannot book the 2 Night FREE Fiji Stopover package more than once on the same return ticket. For example, if you are travelling from Los Angeles to Sydney return, you may only use the 2 Night FREE Fiji on your flight from LAX to NAN or on your flight from SYD to NAN, not both.

2.5 If you wish to stopover in Fiji for longer than 2 nights, please contact us and we can extend your stay at our special rates. However, please be aware that any Fiji Stopover longer than 72 hours will incur Fiji departure tax.

2.6 If you book a 2 Night FREE Stopover, you will incur a USD$50 cancellation fee if your notice of cancellation is received less than 60 days prior to the date of arrival.

3. How to Book

3.1 You must hold a confirmed and paid-for Fiji Airways operated and marketed return “Year Round Fare” ticket departing either Los Angeles, San Francisco or Honolulu to Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, Auckland, Christchurch or Wellington via Fiji in order to book a Fiji Stopover. A “Year Round Fare” is a fare that is not subject to “travel period” or “black out” restrictions. Please note that the airfare must first be paid for in full before you purchase a Fiji Stopover.

3.2 The Fiji Stopover Programme is not available to:

(a) unaccompanied minors;

(b) passengers holding free frequent flyer award/compensation tickets;

(c) travel industry reduced rate tickets; or

(d) group tickets.

3.3 A Fiji Stopover booking can be made by completing the Booking request form online and where applicable, must be accompanied by full payment. All featured hotels and services are subject to availability and black-out periods.

3.4 A Fiji Stopover booking must be made not less than 7 days prior to your departure for Fiji and where applicable, full payment must be made at the time of booking. Payments can be made by debit or credit card. Payments made by debit or credit card may incur surcharges.

3.5 A booking is accepted by us only if and when we confirm availability of the relevant accommodation and other services. Once full payment has been made for an accepted booking, we will issue you with your Fiji Stopover itinerary which includes your booking reference.

3.6 If, for any reason, a booking is not accepted by us, all monies you have paid to us for that Fiji Stopover booking will be refunded and we shall not have any further liability to you.

3.7 It is important to check your Fiji Stopovers itinerary to make sure that all the details are exactly as you requested. In the event of any discrepancy, please contact us immediately as it may not be possible to make changes later.

3.8 A Fiji Stopover must be utilized immediately upon arrival in Fiji and the stay must be continuous.

4. Hotel Accommodation

4.1 Standard check-in time is 14:00 and checkout is 11:00. All hotels in the Fiji Airways Fiji Stopover program offer a 24-hour check-in/check-out facility.

4.2 Hotels reserve the right to charge you for periods when you occupy a room before the normal check-in time or after the normal check-out time. For your comfort, we therefore recommend that when booking the number of nights you intend to stay, you consider whether this covers your early arrival or your late departure.

4.3 Please note, it is normal practice for hotels in Fiji to request for a credit card guarantee or deposit at check-in. The deposit is refundable at the time of check-out. However, if something is consumed from the mini bar or restaurant, the cost will be deducted from the deposit.

5. The Price

5.1 The Fiji Stopover Programme is only valid for travel from 21 March 2019 to 31 December 2019.

5.2 We reserve the right to alter the prices of any of the hotels and other services shown on our website.

5.3 Before you make a Fiji Stopover booking we will give you the up-to-date price of your chosen Fiji Stopover hotel including the cost of any supplements, upgrades or additional facilities which you have requested.

5.4 The price of any Fiji Stopover includes only the items specified in your booking. Unless otherwise specified, it does not include items of a personal nature including, but not limited to, travel insurance, meals, optional excursions, private transfers, passport, visas, cots and food for infants, laundry, room service, minibar and hotel extras (including early/late check-in/check-out fees) or gratuities.

5.5 If your Fiji Stopover is for a period of longer than 72 hours you will incur Fiji departure tax.

5.6 We reserve the right to impose surcharges on the price of any Fiji Stopover after you have booked but will only do so to allow for variations in transportation costs (including the cost of fuel), dues, taxes, fees or exchange rate fluctuations.

6. Changes or Cancellations and Refunds

6.1 By you:


(a) Once your Fiji Stopover booking has been confirmed and you wish to change your Fiji Stopover booking in any way, we will endeavor to accommodate these changes but it may not always be possible to do so. All changes are subject to availability.

(b) Any request for changes must be made in writing from the lead person on your Fiji Stopover booking. You may also be required to pay any increase to the cost of your Fiji Stopover booking as a result of your changes.


(c) You may cancel your Fiji Stopover travel arrangements at any time. All cancellations must be made in writing. Cancellation will take effect on the date we receive such written notification.

(d) Since we incur administration costs in cancelling your Fiji Stopover travel arrangements you will be required to pay the applicable cancellation charge up to the maximum shown in the table below. Charges for cancellations are calculated from the date we receive notification.

6.2 By Us:

Changes or cancellation

(a) It is unlikely that we will need to make any alteration to your Fiji Stopover booking but sometimes circumstances change and alterations have to be made. We reserve the right to change or cancel your Fiji Stopover booking at any time.

(b) If we make a major change we will advise the lead person on the Fiji Stopover booking as soon as reasonably possible. An example of a major change is (but is not limited to) a change of accommodation to that of a lower official classification for the whole or a major part of your Fiji Stopover.

(c) If we make a major change we will offer you the choice of the following options:

(i) accepting the changed arrangements; or

(ii) accepting substitute arrangements of comparable standard from us if available (we will refund any price difference if the alternative is of a lower value); or

(iii) cancelling your Fiji Stopover booking and receiving a full refund of all monies paid to us for the Fiji Stopover booking.

(d) You must tell us which one of the above choices you wish to make within 72 hours of being informed of the major change we are making. If we do not receive notification from you about your choice within 72 hours you are deemed to have accepted the option specified in 6.2(c) (i).

(e) We shall not be liable for any changes to or cancellation of your Fiji Stopover booking due to events beyond our control. Examples of events beyond our control include, but are not limited to war or threat of war, riot or civil disturbance, political unrest, terrorist activity or threatened terrorist activity, industrial disputes or threatened industrial disputes, strikes, fire, floods and other natural disasters, nuclear disasters, adverse weather conditions, acts of God, acts of government, closure of airports, failure of a carrier, a hotelier or other person to operate services for any reason.

6.3 These booking conditions do not apply to your flights. Any changes or cancellations of flights will be subject to the relevant terms of the ticket

7. Our Liability To You

7.1 Our obligation is to take reasonable skill and care in the performance of our obligations under these Booking Conditions.

7.2 Fiji Airways is not itself a provider of accommodation, ground services, tours or other activities nor does it control the third parties who provide such services in connection with your Fiji Stopover.

7.3 We do not accept liability for any injury, illness, death, loss, damage, expense, cost or other claim of any description whatsoever which results from:

(i) your act(s) and/or omission(s); or

(ii) the act(s) and/or omission(s) of a third party including hotels and ground service providers; or

(iii) events beyond our control (as defined in clause 6.2(e)).

7.4 Our liability is limited to a maximum of the booking price paid by you.

7.5 Your Fiji Stopover booking may be serviced by carriers, providers of accommodation, car rental companies, catering and other parties who have their own booking conditions of carriage and business and over whom we may have no direct control. Their booking conditions may strictly limit the circumstances in which compensation is payable to you by them and you agree to be bound by their booking conditions.

7.6 Air, sea, rail and road transport and hotel accommodation is subject to various International Conventions that limit the liability of the carriers or providers. International Conventions which may apply include, without limitation: in respect of international air travel, the Warsaw Convention 1929 (as amended) or the Montreal Convention 1999; in respect of rail travel, the Berne Convention 1961; in respect of carriage by sea, the Athens Convention 1974; in respect of carriage by road, the Geneva Convention 1973; and in respect of hotels, the Paris Convention 1962. The carriage by air of passengers and their baggage is in addition subject to the Conditions of Carriage of the carrier concerned. With respect to Fiji Airways flights, please refer to the Conditions of Carriage for Passengers and Baggage, available on Where any claim or part of any claim (including for death or personal injury) concerns or is based on any of such travel arrangements (including the process of getting on and/or off the transport concerned where applicable) provided by any air, rail or road carrier, or by any hotel-keeper, the maximum amount of compensation to which you may be entitled may be limited.

7.7 We will not accept responsibility for services or facilities which do not form part of our Fiji Stopover programme, such as any excursion you book whilst you are away, or any service or facility which your hotel or other supplier agrees to provide to you. Such arrangements do not form part of your Fiji Stopover. We have no involvement in such activities or excursions and they are not run, supervised or controlled in any way by us. They are provided by local operators and other providers who are completely independent from us and in relation to whom we have no liability.

7.8 Save as set out above, and as is detailed elsewhere in these Booking Conditions, we shall have no legal liability whatsoever to you for any loss or damage.

8. Your Responsibilities

8.1 For your own protection, we strongly recommend that you and all members of your party have comprehensive travel and medical insurance for the full period of your Fiji Stopover. It is your responsibility to ensure that the insurance cover you purchase is suitable and adequate for your particular needs.

8.2 Issuance of visas is solely at the discretion of the immigration authorities and Fiji Airways assumes no responsibility for visas being rejected or your entry being denied.

8.3 It is your responsibility to ensure that you are fit to travel and participate in all parts of the services you have booked and undertaken.

9. Data Protection

9.1 If you make a Fiji Stopover booking with us, we will record your personal details, including your sensitive personal data, and these will be processed in accordance with relevant data protection laws and regulations. We will use your data principally to meet your contracted requirements, including passing your data to relevant third party suppliers. We may also use your data for future marketing purposes, such as informing you of promotional offers or sending out brochures to you, but we will only do so by electronic means if you have agreed to receive distant marketing communications.
