Fiji Link to resume some domestic services this afternoon

Airline to assist Fijian authorities with medical supplies for the North today

Following weather and airport assessments, Fiji Link will resume some domestic services between Nadi and Suva today. Customers whose flights between Nadi and Suva on Thursday (17 December 2020) and Friday (18 December 2020) were cancelled may rebook themselves on flights available this afternoon.

Fiji Link will also operate a special (non-commercial) flight from Suva to Labasa this afternoon to assist the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Civil Aviation transport essential medical supplies and personnel to Vanua Levu.

Mr. Andre Viljoen, Fiji Airways Group Managing Director and CEO said: “Our hearts go out to our fellow Fijians around the country who have been impacted by Tropical Cyclone Yasa. Both Fiji Link and Fiji Airways stand ready to assist Fijian authorities with relief and recovery efforts as required.”

Fiji Link plans to operate all scheduled domestic services for Saturday (19 December). However, flights to smaller ports like Savusavu and Taveuni may be delayed to operate later in the day, to allow these airports to be operationally ready.

All Fiji Airways jet aircraft will return to the country over the next three days, and the airline will resume scheduled freighter flights from Monday (21 December).

Customers whose travel plans may have changed are requested to contact Fiji Airways Reservations Centre to discuss options for rebookings or holding of credit for future use.
